The emblem of Iasi is the Palace of Culture, an edifice that serves as Administrative and Justice Palace until 1955. The construction started in 1906, but despite of War World I it led to the limitation of resources. In this period, the unfinished construction served as a shelter for Romanian and Russian soldiers. Later, in 1925, the palace was inaugurated by King Ferdinand I. Now, it covers 4 museum reunited under the name Moldavia National Museum Complex. Also, the palace houses the Cultural Heritage Conservation- Restoration Center.
The 6 Dacian fortresses from Orastie Mountains were built for defense and protection against Roman Empire. This represents an innovative picture of Iron Age, being well-preserved. The Dacian fortress and Sarmizegetusa Regia belong to UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
The Table of Silence has many symbols, one referring at the Last Supper between Jesus and Apostles, and another one represents the table around which gather the soldiers before confronting their enemy. The castle was a property of John Hunyadi. It became a sumptuous home, not only a strategically enforced point. With time, the aspect was changed by adding towers, halls and guest rooms.
